The Anti-Saloon League

Arguably one of the most important and successful lobbying groups in US history, the Anti-Saloon League was the leading organization that pushed for Prohibition in the US. Founded in Ohio in 1893, by 1895 it had outgrown its humble roots to become a national organization. The group was successful in getting support from all levels of government for what would become the 18th Amendment.
